Please read about our Peonies

Peonies ( Paeonia lactiflora ) are among the most luxurious and sought-after cut flowers in the world. With their enormous, ruffled blooms, intoxicating fragrance and extraordinary range of colours — from the palest blush white through every shade of pink, coral, magenta and deep crimson red — they are the undisputed queen of the British summer flower season. A single stem can produce a bloom up to 25cm across. A handful of stems transforms any room instantly.

Peonies have been cultivated for over 1,500 years. They originate from China — where they are the national flower, symbolising wealth, honour and imperial elegance. Introduced to Europe in the 18th century, they quickly became prized across the continent. Today the Netherlands dominates global cut flower supply, with over 140 million stems traded annually through Royal FloraHolland — the largest flower auction in the world.

When Are Peonies in Season? — The Complete Monthly Calendar

This is the most searched question about peonies in the UK — and the answer changes month by month. Here is the definitive guide to peony availability throughout the year.

Month Availability Source Notes
January Limited but still available Chile, New Zealand Southern hemisphere supply, premium pricing, limited varieties
February Limited but still available Chile, Israel (early) Available but premium. First Israeli tunnel-grown stems arriving
March Early supply 🌱 Israel, Italy (glasshouse) First Italian under-glass stems. Early varieties only
April Early season ✅ Italy 🇮🇹, France 🇫🇷, Israel 🇮🇱 Coral Charm, Red Charm, Jules Elie, Paula Fay. Season opens
May Peak ⭐⭐⭐ Netherlands 🇳🇱, France 🇫🇷 Full range available. Sarah Bernhardt, Duchesse de Nemours, all varieties
June Peak ⭐⭐⭐ Netherlands 🇳🇱, France 🇫🇷 Maximum variety and best value. The heart of the British peony season
July Late season ✅ Netherlands 🇳🇱 Festiva Maxima, Bowl of Cream, late Dutch varieties. Season closing
August End of season ⚠️ Netherlands (cold store) Cold-stored Dutch stems only. Limited availability, check website
September Very limited ⚠️ Netherlands (specialist forcing) Specialist autumn-forced Dutch peonies from a handful of growers
October Limited ⚠️ South Africa, Chile (early) Southern hemisphere season beginning. Premium pricing
November Limited ⚠️ Chile, New Zealand Available but not peak quality or value. Limited variety choice
December Limited ⚠️ Chile, New Zealand Christmas peonies available at premium. Check website for current stock

Can you buy peonies all year round? Yes —From October through March, fresh peonies in the UK come from Chile Isreal and New Zealand where it is their summer. Quality is good but variety is limited and prices are higher than peak European season. From April to July, European-grown peonies represent outstanding value and the widest possible choice.

What Colours Do Peonies Come In? The Complete Guide

Cut flower peonies are available in a beautiful spectrum. Understanding what colours genuinely exist — and which do not — will help you choose exactly the right stems.

🌸 Pink Peonies

Pink is the most widely grown and abundant peony colour, spanning an extraordinary range: palest blush pink (Reine Hortense, early Alertie), mid baby pink (Sarah Bernhardt — the world’s most popular peony), strong rose pink (Dr Alexander Fleming — two shades deeper than Sarah Bernhardt), hot pink and cerise (Paula Fay), deep magenta and fuchsia (Bowl of Beauty outer petals, Kingsday). Pink peonies are the perfect choice for birthdays, weddings, Mother’s Day and romantic gifts. We stock pink peonies throughout the season in multiple varieties simultaneously.

🤍 White Peonies

White peonies range from brilliant pure white to soft cream and ivory. The finest varieties: Duchesse de Nemours (brightest white, intensely fragrant), Bridal Shower (soft white, the most popular white wedding peony), Festiva Maxima (white with crimson-red flecks at the centre — one of the most elegant peonies in existence), Bowl of Cream (creamy white with hidden golden stamens), Ivory Victory (pure ivory). White peonies are the signature choice for bridal bouquets and pair beautifully with every other colour.

🪸 Coral and Salmon Peonies

The most photographed peonies on social media. Coral Charm — the queen of this family — opens in deep coral-orange and fades to soft peach and cream as it matures, creating living colour movement. Salmon Saucer , Salmon Chiffon and Coral Sunset offer warm sunset tones. These are particularly popular for contemporary weddings and interior styling. Early Italian-grown Coral Charm from the Barbarossa family near Rome is considered among the finest in the world.

❤️ Red Peonies

Deep red peonies make the most dramatic statement. Red Charm — huge crimson double blooms reaching 22cm, available from late April, MPS A+ sustainability certified — is the finest red peony available. Red Sarah Bernhardt offers deep rose-red tones as a sport of the original pink variety. Command Performance adds vivid rose-red at the larger end. Perfect for anniversaries, Valentine’s arrangements and high-drama occasions.

💜 Do Purple Peonies Exist? What About Blue Peonies?

The honest answer is: true purple and true blue peonies do not exist as fresh cut flowers. Peonies naturally produce blooms only in white, cream, pink, coral, salmon and red. No breeding programme has produced a commercially available blue or purple peony despite significant effort over many decades.

What you can achieve: Some deep fuchsia varieties — particularly Bowl of Beauty with its rich magenta-fuchsia outer petals — can photograph as near-purple in certain lighting. For a genuinely purple or blue arrangement using peonies as the focal flower, combine deep fuchsia peonies with true purple flowers: alliums, lisianthus, lavender, agapanthus, sweet peas or blue hydrangeas. The effect can be breathtaking — contact us to discuss a bespoke mixed arrangement.

Peony Varieties — The Complete Guide

All commercial cut flower peonies belong to the species Paeonia lactiflora . Flower forms: double (fully packed petals, the classic shape), semi-double (outer petals, visible stamens) and anemone (outer petals, tufted inner centre). The great majority of cut flower peonies sold in the UK are double.

Bowl of Beauty Fuchsia / cream centre Anemone Mid May – Jun Up to 25cm. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Dramatic two-tone

Bridal Shower Soft white Double May – Jun The most popular white wedding peony. Strong stems, 60cm
Command Performance Vivid rose-red Double Mid May – Jul XXL heads. One of the most intensely coloured peonies
Coral Charm Coral-orange → peach Semi-double Late Apr – Jun Living colour change as it matures. The most photographed peony
Coral Sunset Deep coral → peach Semi-double May – Jun Richer, deeper tones than Coral Charm. Stunning colour evolution

Mixed Peony Bouquets — Our Florist’s Choice Collection

Our mixed peony bouquets are designed and hand-selected by our team from the best stems at the Dutch Flower Auctions each week. Rather than specifying a single variety, you receive the finest stems available that day — which means every mixed peony bouquet is genuinely unique. Each delivery reflects exactly what is at its best in the season at the moment you order.

Mixed peony bouquets may include any combination of: Sarah Bernhardt and Dr Alexander Fleming (layered pinks), Bridal Shower and Duchesse de Nemours (pure whites), Coral Charm and Coral Sunset (warm coral tones), or a full spectrum mix of seasonal varieties spanning pink, white and coral. Our florist selects for maximum visual impact, complementary colours and peak freshness.

Peonies and Roses Bouquet: Our mixed arrangements can combine peonies with seasonal roses for an abundant, full-bloom composition. Deep pink peonies with blush roses, or white peonies with cream garden roses — contact us to request a specific combination.

Peonies and Hydrangeas Bouquet: One of the most-requested mixed arrangements — peonies alongside lush hydrangea heads create a bouquet of extraordinary fullness. White hydrangeas with pink peonies is perhaps the single most popular British wedding combination. We can create peonies-and-hydrangeas arrangements on request.  Simply purchase your peonies and then add Hydrangea Roses and Eucalyptus from our extensive Floral bunches range.

Peonies and Lilies Bouquet: Two of the most intensely fragrant cut flowers combined. Oriental lilies and peonies together fill any room with scent. White lilies with pink or coral peonies is particularly effective just add the peonies to your basket and then continue shopping for your lilies by selecting the flowers by variety dropdown link.

Peonies and Stocks Bouquet: Sweet-scented stock with peony heads creates a beautifully layered, fragrant summer arrangement. Purple or white stocks with pink peonies is a classic combination.

Peonies for Every Occasion

Peonies symbolise romance, prosperity and good fortune in Western tradition. In Chinese culture they represent wealth and imperial honour. In Japan ( botan ) they signify bravery and nobility. This universality makes them appropriate for almost every celebratory and meaningful occasion.

  • Birthday Peonies — A generous bunch of peonies is one of the most memorable birthday gifts imaginable. Their seasonal rarity makes them feel genuinely special. Send pink peonies for a warm, joyful celebration; white peonies for sophisticated elegance; coral for energy and drama.

How Much Do Peonies Cost? Pricing Guide

Peony prices in the UK vary by variety, season, grade and source. Here is an honest guide to what you should expect to pay and why:

Peak season (May–June) European peonies from Flowers by Flourish start from £30 for a beautiful seasonal bouquet and go up to £75 for large premium arrangements. Bulk orders of 50–100 stems are priced competitively — contact us for a quote. Individual stem pricing is available for DIY customers.

Peonies have an extremely short growing season — six to eight weeks per year in any given location. Each plant produces only 6 to 15 flowers annually and takes three years to reach flowering maturity. All harvesting is done by hand. These biological constraints make peonies genuinely scarce by nature, and their price reflects that scarcity. A Flowers by Flourish peony bouquet sourced direct from the Dutch auctions represents outstanding value for a flower of this calibre at every time of year.  Flourish are able to source our Peonies all year round even if at certain times of year they are more expensive to deliver – we are a London Florist delivering Nationwide.

Early and late season (April, July) peonies are sold at  premium prices as supply is lower. Exclusive Off-season Peonies (October–March) and  southern hemisphere peonies are available throughout the winter – order in advance and with notice we can always source them for you at best value and premium pricing due to the longer logistics chain.

Compared to supermarkets: Tesco, M&S, Waitrose and Asda peonies are typically sourced weeks in advance, held in cold storage and may have been cut 7–14 days before reaching the shelf. At Flowers by Flourish, your peonies are bought at the Dutch auction the week of your order — the same stems that supply London’s finest florists — and dispatched the same day. The difference in vase life and bloom quality is significant. Our five-day freshness guarantee backs this up absolutely.

Compared to Bloom and Wild, Interflora and eflorist: We are a specialist peony florist — not a generalist delivery service. We buy specifically for our peony customers from the Dutch Flower Auctions at peak freshness. No other UK online florist offers the same combination of provenance, grade and freshness guarantee on peony stems.

The Growers Behind Your Peonies

We know our growers. This is rare in the UK florist market — and it matters. The provenance of a cut flower determines its quality, its freshness and the story behind it. Here are the farms where our peonies grow.

Groot & Groot Peonies — Andijk, North Holland, Netherlands

One of the most respected peony operations in the world, widely regarded by industry professionals as among the finest growers and producers of peony flowers and roots globally. A Dutch family business based in Andijk with farms in the Netherlands, Italy, France and South Africa. Every stem is hand-harvested — they explicitly refuse mechanical harvesting to protect quality. MPS certified since 2020. Soil analysis is carried out at individual variety level, with tailored fertilisation and crop protection programmes for each cultivar. Their Italian farms supply the earliest stems of the season from March and April; their Dutch fields produce from June through August. When you open a peony bouquet from Flowers by Flourish, there is a strong chance those stems came through Groot & Groot’s hands.

Delta Peony Plus — Sommelsdijk, Goeree-Overflakkee, South Netherlands

Leendert and Erika Mastenbroek farm six hectares of peonies on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee in the south of the Netherlands. Their location is strategically significant — further south than the main North Holland growing region, which means their peonies bloom and ship earlier in the season than competitors further north. Delta Peony fills the critical gap between French season end and North Holland supply, which is one of the most valued positions in the Dutch peony trade calendar. Erika personally inspects every single stem before it leaves the farm — a standard of quality control that is genuinely exceptional. Their twins Jaap and Joanna have already established their own first hectare. Thirty-five varieties cultivated including Alertie, Bowl of Cream, Coral Sunset, Command Performance, Belgravia, Sarah Bernhardt and Duchesse de Nemours.

Barbarossa Family (Civitaflora) — Near Rome, Italy

An hour from Rome, Enzo and daughter Simona Barbarossa grow what is considered by many professional buyers to be the world’s finest Coral Charm peonies. Rich Italian soil and full Mediterranean sun create blooms of extraordinary depth and colour intensity. Enzo came to peonies from a distinguished career growing lilies — the same precision and passion transferred completely when peony demand overtook lilies as the dominant crop. The Barbarossa family do not operate a public website, but their reputation in the European peony trade speaks for itself. When you buy Coral Charm from Flowers by Flourish in April and May, those flowers very likely came from their fields under the Italian sun.

Our complete quality chain: Growers ( Groot & Groot , Delta Peony Plus , Barbarossa family Italy) → curated by C.J. Vianen Flowers (grower-visited selection standards) → graded at Royal FloraHolland (Grade A1, 55cm) → specified and dispatched by Flowers by Flourish → delivered by Royal Mail Tracked in W.E. Roberts / Smurfit Kappa packaging → your door, backed by a five-day freshness guarantee.

Sustainability — How Our Supply Chain Cares for the Environment

When you buy peonies from Flowers by Flourish, you are buying from a supply chain that takes environmental responsibility seriously at every stage — from the grower’s field to your door. Here is what that means in practice.

Vianen Flowers — Sustainability at the Heart of the Supply Chain

Our supplier C.J. Vianen Flowers has made sustainability a core operational commitment — not a marketing claim. Their verified initiatives include:

  • FSI Partnership — 90% sustainable range by 2025. Vianen is a partner of the Flower Sustainability Initiative (FSI), the leading industry sustainability body for the Dutch flower trade. They are committed to ensuring that 90% of their entire range consists of certified sustainable flowers and plants — a significant, measurable target that covers the growers, the supply chain and the product itself.
  • WKO Geothermal Heat Exchange System. Vianen’s 16,000m² Rijnsburg facility uses a geothermal WKO (Warmte Koude Opslag — Heat Cold Storage) system to store heat and cold underground and reuse it to warm and cool the building. This significantly reduces energy consumption and lowers CO₂ emissions compared to conventional heating and cooling systems for a facility of this scale.
  • Energy-saving motors throughout. Every motor in the facility is designed to operate exactly when and how needed, with no unnecessary load. The result is a measurably more efficient operation with lower energy consumption at every stage of handling and processing.
  • New double-deck trailers from January 2025. Vianen invested in four new double-deck trailers that carry 77% more cargo per trip than standard trailers, pulled by new Volvo FH Aero trucks specifically chosen for their aerodynamic design and fuel efficiency. The result is dramatically fewer road trips per flower delivered — lower CO₂ per stem reaching your door.
  • Packaging reduction throughout. Vianen is actively eliminating unnecessary packaging materials, replacing them with reusable or recyclable alternatives across their entire operation — reducing waste at source rather than managing it downstream.
  • FloriData transparency. Vianen uses FloriData — a real-time data platform — to measure and verify sustainability performance across their supply chain. This creates genuine transparency and accountability rather than unverified claims.

Organic Growers in the Vianen Network

Some of the growers in Vianen’s carefully selected network operate to certified organic standards — using no synthetic pesticides or herbicides whatsoever. Their methods include using chickens to patrol the fields and control weeds naturally, insect hotels to encourage beneficial insects, small ponds to promote biodiversity, and specially selected companion plants to attract natural pest predators. These growers demonstrate that commercial-scale peony production and environmental responsibility are entirely compatible — and Vianen’s commitment to sourcing from them is a direct reflection of that belief.

Sustainability at the Grower Level

Groot & Groot has held MPS certification since 2020 — the Dutch floriculture industry’s environmental assurance scheme covering pesticide use, energy, water and waste. Our Red Charm peonies come from an MPS A+ certified grower — the highest possible rating, achieved by only a small minority of Dutch growers. MPS A+ means maximum scores across all four environmental categories: pesticide reduction, energy efficiency, water management and waste management.

Delta Peony Plus operates with a similarly thoughtful approach to cultivation — their six-hectare farm on Goeree-Overflakkee is managed with the long-term health of the land in mind, consistent with the values of a family business that intends to pass the farm to the next generation.

Numerous stems in the Vianen peony catalogue also carry GlobalGap certification — the international farm assurance standard covering food safety, environmental sustainability and worker welfare across the supply chain.

What This Means for Your Purchase

Every peony bouquet from Flowers by Flourish travels through a supply chain where sustainability is measured, certified and actively improved at multiple points — the grower, the exporter, the logistics operation, and the packaging. We do not claim to be perfect or carbon neutral. What we can say honestly is that the businesses we work with are making genuine, verifiable, documented commitments to reducing their environmental impact — and choosing to source from them rather than from unverified alternatives is a meaningful choice.

How to Care for Your Peonies — Complete Guide

Your peonies will arrive in tight bud. This is intentional and correct — peonies in tight bud travel best and have the longest vase life. They will open fully over 2 to 5 days depending on room temperature.

  • Remove all packaging and cut stems at a sharp 45-degree angle with a clean knife (not scissors, which crush the stem vessels)
  • Place immediately into a clean vase of fresh lukewarm water with the flower food supplied — this is important, not optional
  • Remove any leaves below the waterline — they cause bacteria to multiply in the water
  • Position away from direct sunlight, radiators, draughts, televisions and fruit bowls — ethylene gas from ripening fruit shortens vase life of all cut flowers significantly
  • Change the water every two days , clean the vase, and re-cut the stems each time
  • To slow opening for a specific event — keep in a cool room (10–15°C) or a refrigerator and change to cool water
  • To speed opening — warm bright room, warm water, and place in indirect light
  • If a peony bud seems slow to open, place it in warm water and gently remove the outermost guard petals — this releases the bloom

With correct care, Flowers by Flourish peonies last 5 to 7 days in a vase. Our five-day freshness guarantee means if you are not completely satisfied, we send a replacement bouquet immediately, no questions asked.

Peony Plants for the Garden

Alongside our cut flower peonies we also offer peony plants and shrubs for the garden , sourced from the same Dutch growers who supply our cut flowers. White and pink varieties available. Peony plants are long-lived perennials — a well-planted peony can produce blooms for 50 years or more with minimal care. We recommend planting in groups of three for a generous summer display.

Our peony plants are supplied in white and pink shades, suited to all UK climates. Planting in autumn is ideal. Available from £24.95. Full planting and care instructions included with every order.

Peony Questions — The Definitive FAQ

When is the peony season in the UK?

Late April to the end of July. Peak season — widest choice, best quality, best value — is May and June.

Are peonies in season now?

If peony products are showing in stock on our website with live pricing, we have fresh stems available. If you are reading this between April and July, the answer is almost certainly yes.

Can I buy peonies in February? In December? In September?

Yes — but these months fall outside the European growing season. From October through March, peonies in the UK come from Chile and New Zealand where it is their summer growing season. Available, but with a smaller variety range and at premium pricing. Check our website for current availability in any month.

Can I buy peonies all year round?

Yes. Southern hemisphere production (Chile, New Zealand) means fresh peonies are available year-round, but peak quality and value is from late April to July from European growers.

Where to buy peonies near me?

The best peonies are available online with next-day delivery — not in local shops. Flowers by Flourish sources Grade A1 stems direct from the Dutch Flower Auctions and delivers to your door the next day, anywhere in the UK. This gives you access to better quality than any local florist or supermarket at a comparable price.

How long do peonies last in a vase?

5 to 7 days with correct care. Our five-day freshness guarantee covers every order.

Why do peonies arrive in tight bud?

Peonies travel best and stay freshest when cut and shipped in tight bud. They will open fully at room temperature over 2 to 5 days. This is not a defect — it is exactly the right condition for a quality fresh peony delivery.

Do blue or purple peonies exist?

No. True blue and purple peonies do not exist as fresh cut flowers. Peonies naturally come in white, pink, coral, salmon and red. Deep fuchsia varieties can appear purple in photos. For a purple-toned arrangement, combine deep fuchsia peonies with alliums, lisianthus, lavender or hydrangeas.

Why are peonies so expensive?

Peonies have a naturally short growing season (6–8 weeks per location), each plant produces only 6–15 flowers annually, plants take 3 years to reach maturity, and all harvesting is done by hand. This biological scarcity makes them genuinely premium. That said, buying direct from the Dutch auctions — as we do — means Flowers by Flourish prices represent outstanding value compared to high-street florists.

Are peonies roses?

No. Peonies ( Paeonia ) and roses ( Rosa ) are entirely different plants from different botanical families. The term “peony rose” is used commercially but is not correct. Peonies are typically larger, more seasonal and have a different fragrance profile to roses.

What is the best peony for a bridal bouquet?

Sarah Bernhardt (soft pink, iconic), Duchesse de Nemours (white, intensely fragrant), Bridal Shower (white, generous double blooms), Coral Charm (coral, contemporary drama), Sorbet (blush and cream, romantic layering).

How many peonies do I need for a wedding?

A bridal bouquet typically uses 8–12 stems. A generous table centrepiece uses 10–15 stems. A large event with 8–10 tables needs approximately 100–150 stems. Contact us for specific wedding quantities and we will advise based on your arrangement style.

Are peonies scented?

Most double varieties are fragrant, some intensely so. Most fragrant: Duchesse de Nemours, Sarah Bernhardt, Monsieur Jules Elie, Festiva Maxima, Alertie. Lighter fragrance: Coral Charm, Coral Sunset. If fragrance is important, choose a pink or white double variety.

What is the “New Girl” peony?

New Girl is a soft pink double peony variety known for its delicate, romantic appearance with cream-edged outer petals. Very popular in wedding floristry and frequently searched for by customers who have seen it in inspiration photography. Available from us in May and June when in season.

What are peony double tulips?

Peony tulips are a type of tulip — not a peony — named for their full, ruffled double blooms that resemble peonies in form. They belong to the Tulipa genus and are typically available earlier in spring (March–April) before the peony season begins. If you are searching for peony-like blooms in early spring, peony tulips are a beautiful option. We stock tulips separately — visit our tulips section.

Can I get peonies delivered to Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland?

Why Flowers by Flourish for Peonies?

We are a specialist independent peony florist — not a supermarket, not a generalist delivery service. We buy Grade A1 stems directly from the Dutch Flower Auctions and premium European growers every week of the peony season. Our stems are 55cm, cut to order, dispatched the same day.

  • Direct sourcing — Dutch Flower Auctions, not a distributor’s cold store
  • Grade A1, 55cm stems — the highest commercial grade. Same as top London florists
  • Named growers — Groot & Groot, Delta Peony, Barbarossa. We know where our flowers come from
  • Sustainability — MPS A+ certified Red Charm. GlobalGap certified suppliers throughout
  • Five-day freshness guarantee — not satisfied? We send a replacement immediately
  • Next-day UK delivery — Royal Mail Tracked, anywhere in the UK including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • Thousands of seasonal deliveries — 173,000+ orders and growing since founding
  • Independent — no ads, no compromises — our buying decisions are made for quality, not margin

Looking for Peonies? Here Is What Sets Us Apart

If you have landed here while searching for peonies from M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, Asda, Bloom and Wild, Interflora, eflorist or another florist — welcome. Before you buy from anywhere, here is what you should know about how Flowers by Flourish sources and delivers peonies, and why we think it matters.

We buy directly from the Dutch Flower Auctions

Every stem we sell is purchased at Royal FloraHolland — the world’s largest flower auction — the week of your order. We also source directly through C.J. Vianen Flowers in Rijnsburg, one of the most respected Dutch flower exporters and a specialist with over 24 years building trusted grower relationships specifically for UK customers. This matters for a specific reason: Vianen works with a carefully selected group of growers whose farms their purchasing team physically visits to verify quality. Every grower in their network — including those supplying our peonies — has met Vianen’s own quality standards before a single stem reaches the auction floor. That means the Grade A1 peonies you receive from Flowers by Flourish have passed through multiple independent quality checks: the grower’s own standards, Vianen’s grower selection, the Dutch auction grading, and our own specification. Your stems are purchased and dispatched specifically for your order — a fundamentally different supply chain to peonies that have sat in a distributor’s cold store.

Grade A1, 55cm — the highest commercial grade

We specify Grade A1, 55cm stems on every peony order. A1 is the highest grade awarded at the Dutch auctions — covering stem strength, head size, bud condition and overall quality. 55cm is the full commercial stem length. Not every retailer specifies grade and stem length because not every retailer sources to a consistent standard. We do, and we will tell you exactly what it is.

We know our growers by name

Our peonies come from named, researched growers: Groot & Groot in Andijk, Netherlands — one of the most respected peony operations in the world, MPS certified since 2020, every stem hand-harvested; Delta Peony on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee, run by Leendert and Erika Mastenbroek who personally inspect every stem before it leaves the farm; and the Barbarossa family near Rome, whose Italian-grown Coral Charm is considered among the finest in the world. You will not find this level of provenance detail from a supermarket or a generalist delivery platform, because they simply do not have it.

Packaging built for fresh flowers

We take our packaging as seriously as our flowers. Our delivery boxes are supplied by W.E. Roberts and Smurfit Kappa — two of the UK’s leading corrugated packaging manufacturers — and are specifically engineered to protect cut flower stems in transit. Your peonies travel in purpose-designed boxes that keep them cool, upright and protected from the moment they leave our dispatch to the moment they arrive at your door. Packaging that fails is packaging that damages flowers. Ours does not fail.

Delivered by Royal Mail Tracked

Every peony order is dispatched by Royal Mail Tracked next-day delivery to every address in the United Kingdom. You receive a tracking number so you always know exactly where your flowers are. Royal Mail Tracked is the most reliable nationwide delivery network for time-sensitive fresh produce — it is why we use it, and why our delivery success rate is consistently high across every UK postcode from London to the Scottish Highlands.

A five-day freshness guarantee — in writing

If your peonies are not fresh, beautiful and everything you hoped for within five days of arrival, contact us and we will send a replacement bouquet immediately. No conditions, no arguments, no questions asked. This guarantee is on every single order we take. It exists because we are confident in the quality of what we source — and because we believe you should never have to accept disappointing flowers.

A specialist, not a generalist

Flowers by Flourish was built around flowers like peonies — seasonal, premium, sourced with care. We are not a supermarket adding flowers to a grocery aisle, and we are not a platform routing your order to whichever local florist happens to be available. We are an independent specialist florist with over 173,000 orders delivered, a named managing director whose number is on this website, and a reputation built entirely on the quality of what we send. Every peony order matters to us in a way that it simply cannot to a business where flowers are a minor product line.

What to look for when buying peonies anywhere

Whether you buy from us or anywhere else, here are the questions worth asking: Where were these stems sourced? What grade are they? Is there a freshness guarantee? Can the seller tell you which grower produced them and which auction they came from? We ask ourselves these questions every week at the Dutch Flower Auctions. The answers are the reason our customers come back season after season.

Ready to try us? Use code FBF10 for 10% off your first order. Or use code FIRST4 for 50% off your first peony subscription delivery. Our five-day freshness guarantee means there is no risk in finding out what the difference feels like.
